The Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi recently concluded its successful participation in FITUR 2026 in the Spanish capital, Madrid. This participation is part of its initiatives aimed at strengthening long-term cooperation frameworks with the global travel and tourism sector and establishing Abu Dhabi as a preferred year-round destination. During the event, the department highlighted the diverse tourism assets of the emirate, including its authentic culture, adventure experiences, luxury, and entertainment. At the exhibition, Abu Dhabi was crowned 'Distinctive Destination of the Year' by the Spanish Federation of Travel Agencies. Carlos Garrido de la Cuerda, president of the federation, praised the destination, describing it as a world leader. The department also won the 'Best Tourism Board' award.
